Blocked Gully Unblocking at Grays Shopping Centre

Introduction

This job involved clearing two blocked rainwater gullies in the service yard of a shopping centre, where poor drainage had led to significant surface water pooling across the yard. Using high pressure jetting equipment, our engineers cleared both gullies and restored proper drainage to the area.

Project Overview

The service yard had two rainwater gullies that had become blocked, causing rainwater to pool heavily across a large section of the yard rather than draining away as it should. Standing water in a busy commercial service yard is more than just an inconvenience, it creates a slip hazard for staff and delivery drivers, and left unresolved, it puts ongoing pressure on the surrounding surface and drainage system. We identified both blocked gullies and carried out high pressure jetting to clear the obstruction and restore full flow.

Before clearance, rainwater had pooled heavily across the yard, with standing water covering a large section of the surface around both gullies. After jetting, both gullies were running freely, with water draining away properly and no standing water left across the yard.
